Emma Hayes Announces Team USA 2025 SheBelieves Cup Roster

Team USA’s head coach Emma Hayes has announced their roster just two weeks before the opening day of their matchup against Columbia in the SheBelieves Cup. Which will be held on Friday, Feb. 20th in Houston Texas’s Shell Energy Stadium.

To the surprise of many, this year's Team USA SheBelieves Cup roster will not be featuring the renowned triple espresso made up of Sophia Smith, Mallory Swanson, and Trinity Rodman. The trio has decided it would be best for them to take this time to recover from their injuries.

Although this may seem disheartening for Team USA fans, Coach Emma Hayes seems thrilled to see what this year's team can accomplish when given the chance to showcase their talents.

“From now until the end of June, I suspect there will be a fair bit of experimenting with the available players I can select,” said Hayes. “What an opportunity it is for everyone else to develop.”

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the SheBelieves Cup. Team USA has won five of the last ten SheBelieves Cup championships. Though this record may seem encouraging the question still remains: Can Team USA pull off their sixth Championship in a row despite having so many new faces as well as missing the dynamic triple espresso trio?
