DeMar DeRozan makes history with a spectacular game-winner against the Wizards in Capital One Arena

Updated: Dec 15, 2022

In yesterday's nail-biting game against the Indiana Pacers, the Bulls were down 1 point with 10 seconds left on the clock. DeRozan dribbled up the court and made a contested one-legged buzzer-beater 28 feet from the basket to seal the game. The Chicago Bulls were victorious with the final score being 108-106.

But even more impressive, 28 hours later the Bulls faced off against the Wizards and in the closing moments of the game, the Bulls were trailing by 2 points. Coby White inbound passed It to DeRozan with 3.3 seconds left in the 4th quarter. With the game on the line, DeMar caught the ball in the corner and pump-faked it to shake off his defender. Despite being double-teamed because of Beal's help defense DeRozan rose up and bang! That was the ball game. Thanks to DeRozan's three Chicago won in heroic fashion 120-119. Making DeMar DeRozan the first player in NBA history to score a game-winning buzzer-beater in back-to-back games.

Through grit and trust in one another Chicago remains the eastern conference's first seed. The Bulls are currently on a seven-game win streak as well as the hottest team in basketball. Game after game Chicago is proving themselves as not only a playoff team but also a championship-caliber team. The Bulls are becoming a serious threat to both the Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks.
